Irish Brothers Taking Over The Drifting World
What a day..
Location, Modello, Ireland.
Today in the Irish Drift Championships one of the fastest growing motorsports in Europe came two brothers head to head to fight for the no1 spot. Their family name is the Shanahan and what a family they are, from car sales to grass roots to taking over the drifting world. Jack has been on the main stage for a while now winning the British drift championship a few times in a row. But today there was only a 1st and 3rd place that I could see anyway and that was the two brothers. First Connor goes and wins the pro-am class then comes 3rd in the pro class which means he earns himself a pro licence from now on and Jack Shanahan his older brother wins round 1 of the IDC..
The two boys done great today but lets not get carried away with the few minuets they spent on track and applaud them for the hours, days, weeks, months, years of preparation both boys and parents have put into this sport of ours.
The family have always been a huge part of IDC since they 1st started John the main man in the team and dad to both boys has been known as a gent in the pits even helping out other competitors in order to get them ready to battle his boys,
What do they get for all that hard work? Well the answer is not enough. If they were to do what they did today in the likes of America or Japan they would both be looking at a huge pay out, but that might be the secret behind the two they do it for the love of the sport not to be famous or make money.
Next Round is MAY 20-21 2017 and streams live on
